On the 1st November 2018, the Palestinian Center for Peace and Democracy received the honorable Chrystia Freeland, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada along a distinguished delegation from the Representative office of Canada to the Palestinian Authority. A group of 25 young women and men met her honorable; this group come from the different regions of the West Bank and Jerusalem, and are enrolled at the PCPD in a training course entitled; Strengthening the Palestinian Non-violent Approaches to promote a Just and lasting peace. This project is supported by the government of Canada.
The youth are considered as young leaders on the local level, and they represent different CBOs from the marginalized areas of the West Bank. During the meeting, the youth expressed their appreciation for the role of Canada in supporting the Palestinian people in general and the support to the PCPD. In addition to that, the youth appreciated the role of Canada in supporting the UNRWA, at a time when the other states has stopped their support.
