Summer camp under the title “We want to speak freely”

The 4-day summer camp "We Want to Speak Freely" was held in Ramallah and brought together 30 participants for a variety of activities centered around the theme of freedom.

The camp featured training sessions on the different types of freedoms and included discussions of quotes from philosophers like John Locke and Immanuel Kant, as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its relevance to freedom.

The youth also met with Mohammed Nedal to discuss about the importance of freedoms, and visited the Mohmoud Darwish museum that is full of Palestinian art history.

The camp was designed to be led and facilitated by the youth themselves, with the goal of fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility among the participants. In addition to these more serious discussions, the youth also engaged in fun activities like playing basketball and singing together, as well as performing the Palestinian dance "dabke". Overall, the summer camp provided a unique opportunity for the youth to learn about and explore the concept of freedom in a meaningful and engaging way.

30 youth participated in the summer camp as well as 3 of the PCPD staff and administration.
